The Collaboration…
Impak Maksima was originally created by prolific Malaysian director Ahmad Idham as television series and later on for the silver screen. He was eventually inspired to take it to the stage and transform the story into a live action musical, complete with dancing and drifting.
The musical version of Impak debuted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the first time in Nov 2008. It ran for about two weeks to great response from both Impak fans and new audiences.
This production of Impak in Singapore for Pesta Raya has evolved from its debut, with an artistic collaborative effort between the Malaysian producers of Impak and Panggung Arts. Dialogue from the musical, along with the live car drifting as well as the dancing sequences have been re-worked and adapted as a new and improved version of the musical as a whole.
